The União Nacional dos Escuteiros de Timor Leste (UNE-TL; roughly National Scout Union of East Timor) is the national Scouting organization of East Timor. It was founded 2 December 2005 through the merger of the Corpo de Escuteiros Católicos em Timor-Leste[1] (Corps of Catholic Scout of East Timor) and of Timor Leste Scouting (East Timor Scouting).[2] The organization is a member of the Comunidade do Escutismo Lusófono (Community of Lusophone Scouting).
East Timor is one of 35 countries where Scouting exists but where there is no National Scout Organization which is yet a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement[3], and no organization was ever recognized by WOSM during the nation's Scouting history.
Dom Ximenes Belo, former Bishop of Dili and Nobel Peace Prize winner, is a former Scout and active in Scouting.
