The Black Warrior Council is a local council of the Boy Scouts of America located in West Alabama. Council offices are located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and the council's name refers to Chief Tuscaloosa whose name means Black Warrior. They can be found online at https://www.bwc-bsa.org/

  • Camp Horne - 496-acre main council camp located in east Tuscaloosa County. Summer camp merit badge program.
  • Camp O'Rear - a 90-acre primitive-style facility located in Jasper, AL.
  • White Bluff Scout Reservation - primitive scout high adventure camp on the Black Warrior River near Demopolis AL.

  1. Lake Lurleen State Park is a public recreation area located on U.S. Highway 82 approximately 9 miles northwest of Northport in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. The state park's 1,625 acres includes scenic Lake Lurleen and a 23-mile trail system.
