Reverend Thomas Cecil Alexander was the founder of the Scouting movement in the Malaysian state of Sabah, in Sandakan in 1913, and in the state of Sarawak, in Kuching in 1915. The Sarawak movement was later active only from 1930 onward
Reverend Canon Thomas Cecil Alexander was the founder of the Scouting movement in the Malaysian state of Sabah. He is part of the  Anglican Mission and he founded the  first boy scout troop in Sandakan in 1913, and in the state of Sarawak, in Kuching in 1915. The Sarawak movement was later active only from 1930 onward.
 
He is also being remembered as the founder of the scout movement in North Borneo and continued to serve the movement until 1926 before returning to England.
