Maliyadeva Scout Group began in the year 1922 as 3rd scout group Kurunegala.1st Christ Church Kurunegala & 2nd St Anne's College in same year, but present both scout groups are not here. Also no college call Christ Church. | |||
Due to the ongoing second world war, the school buildings and land was taken over by the Army in 1942. Due to that all sports & activities are stopped in college. | |||
In 1960 Maliyadeva Scout Group registered in Sri Lanka Scout Association as 0173 with Mr. M.M.W.Mevaddana and Mr. Steven Perera. By 1965 the amount of senior scouts increased from 3 to 60 scouts. | |||
