Founded in 1938, Camp Makualla is the principal Boy Scout summer camp facility for Crater Lake Council. Located on the southern shore of Crescent Lake along the eastern slope of the Cascade Mountains in the Deschutes National Forest in Oregon. . It is a beautiful camp covered in 100-year-old Douglas fir and Ponderosa Pines. Many of these trees are so big it would take 5 Scouts holding hands to wrap themselves all the way around one!


Camp Amenities

  • New in 2018: 5 new laser sailboats, 2 new motor boats and a new dock!

  • Camp is approximately 4,500 feet elevation with scenery of ponderosa pines

  • Excellent Fishing (kokanee salmon, lake trout, rainbow trout, brown trout and mountain whitefish

In addition to traditional summer camp and weekend camping, many cool high-adventure treks are also available at Makualla.

CLC Council

This lodge is chartered by Crater Lake Council, providing scouting for much of Southern Oregon and Northern California. It is a local council (#491) of the Boy Scouts of America. All youth are invited to join scouting.
