Location

On the southwest side of Hobbs,NM on Camp Jim Murray Road, New Mexico, USA. Situated between the Hobbs Country Club to the North and the Lea County Regional Airport on the west and south side of the camp.

History

Purchased in 1944 from the City of Hobbs, the small 40-acre camp has served the local scouts for over 75 years. Local Scouter, Businessman, and Conquistador Council member Jack Maddox approached the City of Hobbs to purchase the property for the Conquistador Council. Named after a long-time Scouter, former president of the Conquistador Council, Lea County Businessman, and former lieutenant governor of New Mexico, James "Jim" Murray Sr.
