A stub is an extremely short article. It contains information, but this is nothing more than only a few sentences of text for a subject on which much more can be told.

A stub can be marked by anybody by placing "{{stub}}" at the end of an article. Once a stub has been properly expanded and becomes a larger article, any editor may remove its stub template.

Locating stubs

You can find stubs in the following places:

  • Category:Stubs (articles marked as a stub appear in this category automatically)
  • Special:Shortpages (automatically generated list of short pages)
  • By setting "stub threshold" in Preferences to a maximum number of bytes for a page to be placed in class "stub" for markup purposes.
