The Scout-In is a dutch scout " trade fair ” and camp event, for all active leaders, group and regional board members, national volunteers and senior-scouts, in the Netherlands. So for everyone from 18 years and older, who is involved in Scouting. The event is a fair and camp combined in one weekend, held every two years. Participants arrive at Friday in the afternoon and go back home during the Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday the actual fair is held. People invited to visited workshops, presentations and a market like display of multiple disciplines. Material providers showcase their goods and (inter)national campsites are represented.

In the evening there is a program of performances of various artists, eat and drink tents and campfires where everybody can meet up and exchange experiences with a small drink or a bite to eat. Foreign Scout are welcome to join and share their story’s from “home”. In 2019 there was a group of refugee Scouts from Syria. They had formed a Syrian scout group in the Netherlands to continue their hobby in the Netherlands and to involve and integrate the Syrian children in the dutch community.

The first Scout-In was held in 1974 in Ommen. After 1987 the event moved to Dronten, (same site as the WJ 1995). Between 2000 and 2013 it was near the village Liempde. To then move to Scoutinglandgoed Zeewolde.

With nearly 5000 volunteers participating the event and 200+ volunteers making the event, the Scout-In is the largest volunteer event of The Netherlands.

The Scout-In21 was canceled because of uncertain Covid-19 measures. Instate of the actual event there is an online alternative “#ScoutOn”. If al goes to plan the next fiscal Scout_In will be in 2023.
