Lawrie Dring' is a British Scouter. He is one of the founding members of the World Federation of Independent Scouts and President of the Baden-Powell Scouts, having formerly also been Chief Scout of the Association.
Lawrie Dring was in the army when a colleague asked him to join Scouting in the 1940s. He started as a leader in Cub Scouts in 1947, in Wuppertal, Germany.
He is a member and a Scouter of 1st Yorkshire Baden-Powell Scouts Troop. He has visited the Canada, the United States, Germany and South Africa. He also attended Jamboree 2008, an event celebrating the centenary of Baden-Powell's first official Scout camp.
