Besides the camping, and outdoor activities the group is actively joined into JOTA/JOTI.

The group is multicultural having Aboriginal Australian, people born of families from overseas. Some families have joined the group coming to Australia recently from Korea and the UK.

Campsites near the group are bushland and it is possible to walk between the trees for hikes. Keep an eye out for snakes and spiders although a bite is rare - be prepared. Camping zones usually have blue skies above them. The group is not near the beach as the city, Brisbane is up the river from the coast. The scouts love the white beaches, but have to travel 45min to 1hour to get to the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast. To the south the hinterland is more lush than local bush as the drought hasn't affected them as much.
