The Group is always well represented at National Jamborees, Ventures and Regattas, and at most regional and Coastal Zone events. Over recent years our youth members have also represented the Group at international events such as World Jamboree (Chile 1998), Australian Jamboree (1999), Michigan Camporee, (USA 2000), European Jamboree (London 2005) and Australian Venture (Sydney 2006). Two youth members from Ngati Toa Group will join 40,000 scouts and leaders from around the world to attend the Centenary World Jamboree near London in July 2007. 8 Then are to travel to Singapore, Ireland, Finland and to the Arctic Circle on a massive search for Santa - the Venturers of course!

The unique location of Ngati Toa Group provides the opportunity to progressively expose youth members to water based activities in the calm of the marina, the protected waters of the Porirua Harbour and Pauatahanui Inlet, or the more challenging Plimmerton Bay. In order to deliver the water based training programme, the Group owns three cutters and five sunburst yachts, an inflatable safety boat and four kayaks, together with all safety equipment such as life-jackets.
