El Dorado is a district of Golden Empire Council - Boy Scouts of America. Growing and supporting Scouting in the city of Folsom and the communities of El Dorado County.

District Roundtable

District Roundtable meets on the 2nd Thursday each month 7PM at ____. Roundtable provides supplemental training for volunteers at the unit level. The objectives of roundtables are to provide leaders with program ideas, information on policy and events, training opportunities, and an enhanced network of contacts and other resources while also providing unit leaders with a voice in formulating direction at the district level.

Cub Scout Packs

Cub Scouts holds weekly activities for youth ages 6-10.

Pack 94 Folsom City Lions Club Active Folsom CA Doing all kinds of fun activities like family camping, Pinewood Derby, day trips, overnight trips, community service and marching in the Folsom Memorial Day parade each year.
Pack 134 Active Folsom CA primarily serves youth of Natoma Station Elementary and Galardo Elementary schools,
Pack 735 Active Folsom CA Gold Ridge Elementary School
Pack 1855 Journey Church Active Folsom CA boys learn citizenship, leadership, and friendship with boys in their age group.

Boy Scout Troops

Boy Scouts- Weekly meetings / monthly outtings / annual summer adventure trips. Scouting builds life and leadership skills for boys ages 11-17. Contact either the unit or it's sponsor to get more information back in 72 hours.


Venturing Crews

Venturing hold weekly activities for youth ages 14-20. Most units are co-ed and have a venturing theme. Contact either the unit or it's sponsor to get more information back in 72 hours.

GEC Council

Golden Empire Council (GEC) (local council #047) of the Boy Scouts of America operates this scouting district. It serves a large section of Northern California, primarily the Sacramento Valley and the northern Sierra Nevada mountains. As of 2017 they serve over 15,000 youth members.

Council Camps

GEC also owns and operates four camp properties:

  1. Camp Winton - Combination wilderness and aquatic camp featuring overnight canoe treks on Bear River Reservoir in the Central Sierra Nevada mountains. Featuring complete summer camp program.
  2. Camp Lassen - Overnight horse treks in the Sierra Nevadas.
  3. Camp Robert Cole - Beautiful High Sierra wilderness adventure camp near Lake Truckee.
  4. NorCal Adventure Camp - Recently purchased and under development by the council.
