Cedar Badge is a leadership training camp in the Grand Teton Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Cedar Badge is held each year at the Treasure Mountain Scout Camp which is near Driggs, Idaho.<!-- this is the best reference I have right now to back up my statements in this paragraph. The reference is narrow in that it only applies to 2004, but it does state that Cedar Badge is first in the parade and lists them as "Color Guard" --><!-- They carry the "Flags of Freedom", historic flags of the United States and Cedar Badge. --><br />
<br />
==Programs==<br />
All programs include daily leadership instruction and hands-on experience working in a patrol, squad, or crew.<br />
<br />
===Boy Scouts===<br />
The Boy Scout program includes an outpost camp.<!-- cannot verify at this time, sorry: Throughout the week, Boy Scout patrols are awarded Baiden Powell awards for doing service. The Baiden Powell awards are typically put on the patrol's flag. --><br />
<br />
===Varsity===<br />
The Varsity program includes rappelling, an outpost camp, geocaching, and a Varsity Rendezvous.<br />
<br />
===Venturing===<br />
The Venturing Scout program includes at least one all-male crew and at least one co-ed crew. Venturing activities include rafting and hiking.<br />
<br />
===Staff===<br />
<!-- I do not yet have a source to back this up, but it is true.<br />
Staff members come up a few days early for "staff week." Staff members receive a red beret to wear during Cedar Badge. Each staff member receives one star pin to put on their buret for each year they serve on staff.<br />
--><br />
A youth Board of Directors, chosen from the staff, is responsible for planning and organizing Cedar Badge.<br />
<br />
<!--<br />
===Newsies===<br />
The Newsies are a special staff group responsible for taking pictures and writing about what is going on at Cedar Badge. The Newsies are there to keep a record or history of what went on at Cedar Badge.<br />
--><br />
==History==<br />
<br />
Captian Thomas Jerry Wadsworth, a retired captain in the US Navy, founded Cedar Badge in 1967. Wadsworth died June 3, 1992 at the age of 75.<br />
<!----><br />
<br />
In 2004, Cedar Badge switched from being a Junior Leader Training (JLT) program to being a National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) program. This resulted in a large change in the curriculum being taught. Notably, before 2004 all Cedar Badge participants were asked to complete a Leadership Growth Agreement after they went home. The Leadership Growth Agreement was awarded in the form of a white patch that the Cedar Badge patch could be sewn to.<br />
<br />
So far, Cedar Badge has only been held the last week in June. In 2006, the Cedar Badge Board of Directors decided that the program had grown so large that it could no longer accommodate all the participants in a single week because the impact on Treasure Mountain Scout Camp was becoming too great. Starting in 2007, the program will be split into two sessions, held the last two weeks of June.<br />
