Scoutcentrum Buitenzorg is a scout centre in the woods around the dutch village Baarn in the province Utrecht. In the 29 acres large forest are 15 campsites and tree indoor accommodations. The ‘Kabouterhuis’ (Brownie house), ‘Uilennest’ (Owls nest) and the ‘Blauwe Vogel Huis’ (Bleu Bird House). Each campsite has its own fire pit in addition to the large main fire circle which sits around 1000 people. The centre provides in pioneering wood and has a little scout shop.
History
Buitenzorg was opened on June 25 1949 as the headquarters and main campsite from the Nederlandse Padvindstersgilde (Dutch Girl-pathfinders Guild). The then Queen Juliana openend the centre.
Usage
Now a day the centre is used as a Gilwell training centre. It is also the location of the National (Dutch) Scouting Museum. The campsite is labeled as ‘Labelterrein’ which is a Dutch quality mark provided by Scouting Nederland.

- The centre is also part of the worldwide cooperation Scout Centres of Excellence for Nature, Environment and Sustainability for short 'SCENES'.
Surroundings
The surrounds of Buitenzorg are experienced as beautiful. It consists of large woodlands to hike. The cultural interested scouts can visited the castle ‘Groeneveld’ just behind the terrain and the nearby former royal palace ‘Soestdijk’ were Queen Juliana lived and is open for visitors every now and then.
Just 10 kilometers (6 mi) from the site is the Padvinders Buiten Centrum Austerlitz. A hike between the to sites is very good possible.
