Rio Hondo is a district of Greater Los Angeles Area Council (GLAAC) - Boy Scouts of America. It serves Scouting in the communities of Whittier.
District Roundtable
District Roundtable meets on the 2nd Thursday each month 7PM at ____. Roundtable provides supplemental training for volunteers at the unit level. The objectives of roundtables are to provide leaders with program ideas, information on policy and events, training opportunities, and an enhanced network of contacts and other resources while also providing unit leaders with a voice in formulating direction at the district level.

GLAAC Council
This district is part of The Greater Los Angeles Area Council (GLAAC), which proudly serves youth members and volunteer leaders through Scout units in Southern California. It is a local council (#033) of the Boy Scouts of America. All youth are invited to join scouting.
Council Camps
With the 2015 merger of the two councils, GLAAC now operates 7 scout camps.
- Camp Cherry Valley - Located on Santa Catalina Island 22 miles off the California coastline.
- Camp Trask - Weekend wilderness camping in Monrovia Canyon.
- Camp Holcomb Valley - Scenic mountain meadow near Big Bear that can host wilderness camping and is near the Pacific Crest Trail.
- Firestone Scout Reservation - Cubland and Scout World camping facilities and shooting ranges near Diamond Bar CA.
- Cabrillo Beach Youth Waterfront Sports Center - located on the San Pedro waterfront - provide unique aquatics and beach camping experiences
- Camp Big Horn (Aka: Hubert Eaton Scout Reservation / AKA: Forest law Scout Reservation) is a large scouting summer camp program in the mountains near Lake Arrowhead.
- Log Cabin Wilderness Camp - Hi-Adventure Base for Sierra Trek venturing. Located at the base of the Inyo National Forest.
