Active and youthful group

Merimetsot a.k.a Meme is an active group of sea scouts located in Espoo's Matinkylä. The group was founded on 1975 and we have c.a. 150 members in our youthful group. Our group's guiding principal is to do scouting in the terms of children. Scouting is fun! When open waters, we actively sail with our 37-foot sailing yacht s/y Sinensis. During wintertime we do much of the same as the other scouts without forgetting to prepare to next sailing season and its adventures in Espoo archipelago and further to inland lakes like Saimaa and along the southern sea coast of Finland. Our group has scouts of all ages and activities to all age groups from cubs to adults.

Sailing yacht Sinensis of Merimetsot is Delphia 37 type. She is big and solid boat meant for traveling. She does well on the stormy waters, too. With her spacious interior and room for 10 to accommodate, she is ideal for sea scouts.
