Gillian Ella St. Clair Clay, is the eldest daughter of Betty Clay and the granddaughter of Robert Baden-Powell and Olave St. Clair Soames.
Scouting
As the granddaughter of Baden Powell, she has a warm heart for scouting. She still regularly attends scouting events such as the 2005 Eurojam, where she climbed the high rope course at the age of 68 and defied the 12 meter high trapeze at Gilwell Park.
Gill regularly assisted her mother in her duties as Vice-President of the Scout Association and Girlguiding UK
Private live
She went to school at Sint Anna's Diocese College in Hlton, South Africa. In 1999, she lived in Coed Hills, Cowbridge in Wales.
Gill married William Leigh Strudwick Clay (her 3th cousin) on 16 November 1968. They had two children
