(David) Michael Baden-Powell (born, 11 December 1940 - died 3 July 2023) was the 4th Baron of Gilwell and 4th Baronet of Bentley. He was the grandson of Robert Baden-Powell. Upon his death, his son David Robert Baden-Powell inherited both titles.
Scouting
He was an active member of the Victoria branch of the Scouts Australia. Michael was heavily involved with Scouts Victoria, holding the position of State Commissioner, Special Duties. He has held a wide range of other positions in the organization, including membership in associated philanthropic bodies such as the World Scout Foundation and the Victorian Scout Foundation.
In 2007 he was very active in reacquiring BP's Rolls-Royce and the accompanying caravan that Robert Baden-Powell had received during the 3rd world jamboree. During the 21st world jamboree, the car and caravan were brought together again at Gilwell Park. Together with 2 others, Michael formed a charity company with the aim of keeping “Jam Roll” (the car) and “Eccles” (the Caravan) for Scouting.
He was also a Freemason and past Master of Baden-Powell Lodge No. 488 in Melbourne, Victoria, a Masonic Lodge founded in 1930, the first named after his grandfather, who donated the Volume of Sacred Law in 1931.
Marriage and Children
In 1966 he married Joan Phillips Berryman, they had three sons
