The Netherlands is a country (incorrectly known as Holland) on the east coast of the North Sea. the official language is Dutch, but Frisian and Papiamento are also spoken. The capital is Amsterdam and the government is located in The Hague. There are twelve provinces, Noord-Brabant, Gelderland, Zuid-Holland, Noord-Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Friesland, Overijssel, Groningen, Drente, Limburg and Flevoland. In the Caribbean there are three more special municipalities, Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius. The Caribbean parts of the kingdom are referred to as the "Dutch Caribbean”.
