A list of Scout Groups. Yes, I said it. I think one needs to be put down somewhere. We can have little funky "Add your Group" buttons. Users come on and just put their group in. It could be organised by country, district and number. It would work, trust me. J.Davison 20:17, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

:Just to say : it's probably a good idea. The same system exists and works on the ScoutWikis in Finnish, French and Italian, why not having it on the English one ? It's a good way to have user coming, but it requires lots of attention from the admins and regular users (people are usually not very well at ease with wiki). To work well, this kind of stuff can do with an infobox and a preloaded text, and, in fact, a funky "Add your group" button. Feel free to ask for advice, help, or whatever you'd like to ask (I designed the French system). Have fun :-) scoutly yours Akela - yaw yaoooo ! 21:03, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Revision as of 21:03, 31 May 2008

This whole article or only part of it has been copied from the equivalent article of scouting.wikia.com, in its version of Wednesday, March 21, 2007 ([1]). Please see the history of this article to know who the authors of this page are. If you want to reuse the text of this article, you MUST give a link to the history of its original version.

I tried to improve all that a bit, and to make it more similar to a ScoutWiki main page than to one of a small wiki with no users for BSA who wants to read some technical advice ... That's not yet good for use. I think we should drop the idea of all the page in a single table, and maybe stop having sooo much templates on it ... The goal is to make that page looking home-like and ready to direct you to loads of pages on very different topics. User:Akela - yaw yaoooo ! 18:17, 21 March 2007 (CET)

So who are the main admins around here ? Or if not admins, at least the active users... Ericblazek 22:00, 27 November 2007 (EET)

Can those admins provide some direction on what material they would like to see added to the wiki ?

 • "Scouting in [each state]" copied over from Wikipedia - There is quite a bit of information on each, would they be better if they were broken up into one page per council ?
 • Badges and requirement like http://www.usscouts.com/ ?
 • Ideas for projects and crafts
 • More images!!!

Hello Ericblazek and welcome on the scoutwiki in english. In fact, we need more english-speaking user on this wiki. The admins are French or Finnish, there is me, and Akela NDE, Cedsib and User:Kontti who lead the international Scoutwiki Network. So you can ask something to us if you want and we try to answer you quickly. You have good ideas, here is a wiki, so each initiative is welcome, we don't have to give a direction, we just edited the main page using the example of the french scoutwiki.

So let's go and don't hesitate to ask us some help.

I think you can try to advertise Scoutwiki on the english-speaking scout forums (fora) in the Net, we need American, British, ... scoutleaders to improve Scoutwiki. So good luck !!

So there's no direction at all? Blast 19:05, 29 January 2008 (EET)

Links here and elsewhere (including "Recent changes) to ScoutWiki:Community Portal are redlinks because the article is called Project:Community Portal. How to fix? Change the links or change the title of the Community Portal? --Bduke 01:38, 31 December 2007 (EET)

May I suggest something...
