Arthur Robert Peter Baden-Powell, 2nd Baron Baden-Powell, FRSA (30 October 1913 in Ewhurst, East Sussex – 9 December 1962) was the son of Lieutenant-General Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell (the founder of Scouting) and Olave St. Clair Soames. He married Carine Crause-Boardman, daughter of Clement Hamilton Crause-Boardman, on 1936-01-03, and had two sons and a daughter:

  • Robert Crause, born 1936-10-15, the later 3rd Baron Baden-Powell, who married Patience Helene Mary Batty in 1963, and have no children. He lives in Guildford
  • The Honourable David Michael, born 1940-12-11, who married Joan Phillips Berryman, and had three children. They moved to live in Australia (Heir to the Barony of Baden-Powell)
  • The Honourable Wendy Dorothy, born 1944-09-16, who never married, and moved to live in Australia

Peter Baden-Powell was, like his father, educated in Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England and at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire. He served in the British South African Police between 1934 and 1937. He was in the Native Affairs Department, Southern Rhodesia between 1937 and 1945. He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Baden-Powell, of Gilwell, Essex on 8 January 1941. He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.). He died in 1962 aged 49, and was succeeded by his son Robert Crause Baden-Powell, 3rd Baron Baden-Powell.[1]
