Ohlone Lodge #63, Order of the Arrow:

The Order of the Arrow (OA) is the National Honor Society of the Boy Scouts of America for Boy Scouts, Venturers, and Scouters elected by their fellow Scouts according to OA membership requirements, and inducted into membership by an OA lodge. The OA has been providing cheerful service to others through youth and adult OA members (known as "Arrowmen") in various lodges and councils throughout the USA since July 1915.

Lodge History

Ohlone Lodge #63 serves as the Order of the Arrow lodge for the Pacific Skyline Council. It was formed on January 1, 1995, with the merger of the Pomponio and Stanford-Oljato lodges. The lodge is named in honor of the Ohlone tribes of Native Americans. The lodge's totem is the California Sea Otter.

Ohlone Lodge has carried on the proud tradition of it predecessors with the winning of both the Honor Lodge and E. Urner Goodman Camping Awards for 1998. We are very active in Section W3A activities earning the "Most Indian Lodge" award several times. Ohlone has also sent a full contingent of Arrowmen to each of the National Order of the Arrow Conferences (NOAC) in 1996, 1998, 2000, and 2002, 2004, and 2009.

Arrowmen from our lodge work as Counselors at our Council's summer camps, Camp Oljato and Camp Cutter, offering instruction and guidance to Scouts from Troops from throughout the Western United States. Service is very important to Ohlone Lodge with one of our primary projects being that we coordinate the annual Memorial Day observance at Golden Gate National Cemetery where this past year over 1700 Scouts and families from four different Councils participated in placing nearly 150,000 American flags on the graves of those who have died after having served our country.

Ohlone Lodge has also been very supportive of Pacific Skyline Council, having donated money to both the James E. West Fund and the Friends of Scouting campaign.

This district is part of The Pacific Skyline Council, headquartered in Foster City, California, and serves Scouting members in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties of Southern California, making it one of six such councils in the Greater Bay Area. It is a local council (#031) of the Boy Scouts of America. All youth are invited to join scouting.
