Camp James G. Gallaent, operated by Chattahoochee Council ( BSA).
first camping facility on West Point Lake, was dedicated to the memory of James G. Gallant on April 16, 1983 during the first spring camporee to be held on the property. A dream of Mr. Gallant and Abe Tipton, it has become a favorite short term camping facility with Scouts and Scouters through out the Council and has hosted numerous camporees, council events, and is home of the annual Freeze-O-Ree held on the fourth weekend of January. The camp consists of over 300 acres with 28 campsites and has bathroom facilities.
